Eutrophication Driven by Aquaculture Fish Farms Controls Phytoplankton and Dinoflagellate Cyst Abundance in the Southern Coastal Waters of Korea

We examined the dynamics of dinoflagellate cyst and phytoplankton assemblages in eutrophic coastal waters Korea, adjacent to fish shellfish farms. Water temperature showed seasonality, whereas salinity pH remained relatively consistent. Dissolved inorganic nutrient levels were higher September at inner stations, where aquaculture farms are located than those May outer stations. Canonical correspondence analysis artificial neural network revealed multiple environmental factors that affect distribution cysts. Diatoms dominated assemblages, while protoperidinioid group assemblages. Cyst abundance was stations due transport by fast currents, positively correlated with abundance. An increase diatom led an heterotrophic/mixotrophic abundance, indicating excessive uneaten food urinary waste from caused eutrophication study region growth diatoms, thereby contributing dinoflagellates consequently, high
